The place to get creative!

We have a great range of craft activities to offer in our bright and cheerful cafe and we can't wait to welcome you in! Our experienced team are on hand to guide and support you with whatever you choose to create. With so many options there's creative fun for the whole family, regardless of age or ability. Booking is highly recommended, especially at weekends and school holidays, although it's not always necessary at quieter times.

Pottery Painting

Our most popular activity by far is 'Pottery Painting'. We have a huge range of unglazed 'bisque' pottery to choose from. With some helpful hints and tips from our friendly team plus top quality glaze paints and tools, you're sure to create something to be proud of! Once you've finished painting, your masterpiece is left with us to be glazed and fired in our kiln then it's usually ready to collect within 7-10 days.

Decoupage

Decoupage is another very popular activity at Create It and unlike the pottery, can be taken home on the same day. It simply involves sticking pieces of special, colourful, patterned papers onto one of our wide range of papier-mâché or wooden shapes to create bright, funky and highly decorative pieces! Decoupage is enjoyed by both children and adults alike, although younger children would benefit from some grown up assistance. Often adults comment about how relaxing and therapeutic this activity can be. We have regular visitors who come for their ‘stress busting’ session to unwind over a coffee, whilst working on their latest project!

Foam Clay

Foam Clay is a fabulous air-drying modelling clay with a very soft, foam paste consistency containing small polystyrene beads. Silk clay is similar but with a silky smooth consistency. Both can be modelled on their own or can be used to coat, wrap and cover a variety of items and surfaces making them perfect to decorate our papier-mache, wooden and even polystyrene shapes. Leave it to dry for a few hours and the clay adheres as it dries and sets firm. Great fun for all ages and abilities, foam and silk clay are super tactile and easy to use and suitable for all the family as your designs can be as simple or detailed as you like. Try it - you'll love it!

Pottery with Acrylics. Brightly painted mermaid, fox and unicorn.

Canvas Painting

Choose from our range of gorgeous pre-printed canvases with brushes and acrylic paints. Some designs come with fibre tip pens which are especially good for little ones. You can make your canvas paintings as simple or as detailed as you want and they can be hung on the wall once you get them home. A therapeutic activity for all ages and a great way to introduce your own artwork to your walls at home!

Pottery with Acrylics

This is our 'make and take' alternative to the traditional glazed and fired pottery which is perfect if you need to be able to take it away on the day. Acrylic paint and glitter glue works brilliantly on decorative items but is not suitable for use on tableware. So if you have your heart set on pottery painting but time is of the essence, grab yourself a figurine with one of our acrylic paint sets and get creative!
